Overall Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily processes and operations of the store (opening procedures, closing procedures) and oversee their implementation and continued success
  • Develop staff structure, interview and hire initial staff in collaboration with HR
  • Develop and maintain store training systems and measures
  • Ensure management team and staff meet all assigned responsibilities and expectations
  • Responsible for staffing to include: scheduling staff to achieve sales and labor goals, hiring/firing, disciplinary action, maintaining accurate files and overseeing role transitions
  • Oversee weekly inventory cycle counting and maintenance procedures
  • Maintain Typehouse operating systems (i.e, POS system, traffic counter, internet, etc.) and independently troubleshoot as needed
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly store goals as determined by Typehouse management
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely reports that assist in tracking weekly, monthly, etc. sales goals
  • Maintain and enforce a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Drive sales, customer loyalty, and local brand recognition through local marketing, promotions, in-store and off-site events, strategic partnerships, attending networking events, offering specialty classes, charitable giving, etc.
  • Oversee the development of new workshops, service offerings, and projects to ensure timely, profitable, and accurate implementation
  • Develop Typehouse’s standard for customer service in collaboration with retail director and continuously work to improve the customer experience in collaboration with the team
  • Work with visual merchandiser to uphold Typehouse’s standard for all visual merchandising and retail aesthetic and execute monthly re-merchandising plans

  • Be available to handle Typehouse operational issues outside of normal business hours
  • Be accessible by phone or email during Typehouse business hours
  • Be available nights, weekends, and holidays (at least two full weekends a month and two nights per week, all major holidays)
  • Understand all roles in order to jump into any role as schedule requires
  • Participate in any Typehouse event if/when necessary
